Sterling has embarked on a plan to bring together multiple leading regional and local construction supply distributors.

Construction Supply distributes construction materials, accessories and tools, primarily for professional concrete and masonry contractors in the United States and Canada. The company has over 73 branches with 1,150 employees and offers over 70,000 SKUs for nearly 25,000 customers. Sterling created the business in 2016 by bringing together Brock White (family owned), Border (sponsor owned for 9 years), and Stetson (family owned). Since then, the company has acquired several branches from Gerdau (carve-out) and Carter Waters (private equity owned). Each distributor focused on different regions of the United States.

Sterling has embarked on a plan to bring together multiple regional construction supply companies.  In this industry, regional identity and relationships are critical. The legacy businesses will retain their identities, which are significant in the context of customer relationships, all while operating under the same broader umbrella. Sterling is also encouraging the exchange of best practices across the Construction Supply family.
