Quote

I have been working with Sterling for 10 years. The reason I keep partnering with them is simple: if they say it, they’ll do it. And they like to do the hard work, rolling up their sleeves to create value. I’ve been through difficult markets with them, and they don’t panic. They focus on making smart decisions and doing what needs to be done to get everyone through it.

Construction Supply Group is a leader in the distribution of specialty construction materials, accessories and tools, primarily for professional concrete and masonry contractors in the United States and Canada. The company has over 130 branches with 2,000 employees and offers approximately 60,000 SKUs for over 65,000 customers. Sterling created the platform in 2016 by bringing together Brock White (family owned) and Border (sponsor owned for 9 years). Since then, the company has acquired a total of 19 industry leaders across various regions of the United States and Canada.

Sterling has executed a strategy to bring together multiple regional construction supply companies. In this industry, regional identity and relationships are critical. The legacy businesses have retained their identities, which are significant in the context of customer relationships, all while operating under the same broader umbrella. Sterling also encouraged the exchange of best practices across the Construction Supply family.
